Clementine E. Farrell
SAVANNAH - Clementine E. Farrell died on Wednesday at Spanish Oaks Retreat. A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Farrell had lived in Savannah for the last ten years. She was predeceased by her husband of over sixty years, Colonel Lee James Farrell.
As the wife of a military officer, Mrs. Farrell had the opportunity to travel world wide with her family. She was a devoted wife, a devoted mother and a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to the many years of volunteerism she offered in support of her husband’s career, she was an active volunteer in support of her children’s education.
After her retirement from the Continuing Education Department of the University of Georgia, Mrs. Farrell became the President of the Auxiliary for St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens and later worked as a volunteer for Candler Hospital in Savannah. She was truly gifted when it came to cross stitching beautiful pictures. Anyone who received one as a gift felt truly blessed. The names of the bridge clubs she enjoyed are too numerous to mention.
Mrs. Farrell is survived by her son, Charles William Farrell, and his wife, Judy; her daughter, Sally Farrell Beeson, of Savannah; and two sisters, Edythe Snow of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Virginia Thurston of Midland, Michigan; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held for family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Candler Hospital Auxiliary, 5353 Reynolds St., Savannah, GA 31405 or a charity of personal choice.
